NAL Presentation Today on Their X-Last Bollard
Today a representative from NAL Ltd, a leading manufacturer and supplier of innovative highway passively safe products came along to Sanderson House to demonstrate to us the X-Last Bollard.
The X-Last bollard is made of a new material, with exclusive properties; they have high resistance and flexibility, which makes them one of the safest and most durable bollards. Thanks to their stiffness, they fully comply with their function of preventing vehicles from entering prohibited zones; but their flexibility means it is virtually impossible to break them, and after being knocked down, they return to their original position and form. These bollards are virtually indestructible and are not affected by rust; they can be manufactured in attractive customised designs and any RAL colour. Their flexibility makes them extra safe compared to other metal bollards that can cause serious harm to vehicles and pedestrians.
Due to the range of colours available this can offer a contrast in their environment to increase their visibility. Information in conventional writing and/or Braille can be integrated during the moulding of the bollards.
The X-Last Bollards primary function is to prevent vehicles from parking in a restricted zone due to their resistance, but they allow Emergency Vehicles to pass over them if needed without any damage to the bollard.
The presentation included the advantages of providing X-Last Bollards over conventional bollards for maintenance and replacement costs, including examples where bollards have been provided i.e. central islands.
The presentation also included a demonstration of the bollards in a test bed to show how the bollards return to their original position following an impact.
The second half of the presentation was demonstrating the different types of retention sockets and the advantages of the sockets compared to conventional methods of securing traffic signs, bollards and lighting columns; including examples of where the sockets have been installed to aid in the easy removal/rotation of signage and bollards for maintenance.

New – Sanderson Associates Launches Web Portal
We are pleased to announce that we now operate our own Web Portal to enable the secure and rapid electronic exchange of documents, drawings and plans between ourselves, our Clients and Statutory Authorities. In addition, in today’s economic climate spiralling postal charges and environmental awareness are material issues.
With issues associated with emailing large electronic files and the overall unsecure nature of emails themselves our Web Portal enables our Engineers and Clients to upload documents, drawings and reports to the designated project folder securely, without any file size issues. Our portal saves all file versions uploaded to it enabling all users to keep track of their work and restore previous versions if ever required.
For further information on our new Web Portal please visit our website.
