Sanderson Associates, the award-winning Yorkshire traffic and highways engineering consultants, have installed a brand new, state-of-the-art computer system to guard against breakdown, fraud and fire.
The company, from Grange Moor, near Huddersfield, has invested over £50,000 into the system to be ready to take full advantage of the opportunities presented as the country moves out of recession.
Alison France, managing director of Sanderson Associates, commented: “We decided it was time to replace the company’s existing servers and IT system.”
“Our new system comprises of three physical servers and a new data storage unit, two of the physical servers are located on site along with the data storage unit, the third physical server is located off site and is utilised as a full back up system” |
“The two on-site servers are fully virtualised servers and can be split into many different virtualised servers. As the two hardware boxes will ‘speak’ to one another, they are able to take over if one of them has a problem, along with a full off-site third server that would take over automatically if both the main physical servers had issues,” she said.
She explained: “Thousands of emails are received by the company on a daily basis, so the recording of inbound and outbound information as well as work undertaken, is critical for us to continue moving forward positively”.
During the past 12 months Sanderson Associates have won the Business of the Month, run by West Yorkshire solicitors Eaton Smith and the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, and was short-listed in the Huddersfield Examiner’s annual business awards. |
